See how we make a Sentinel Lectern. A sneak peak into the manufacturing process at JM Supplies in Harrogate, UK.
Once the CAD design has been signed off by the customer, we begin work on the CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacture) side. This involves nesting the parts onto sheet material and assigning the tool paths for cutting. This outputs a code to the CNC machine which cuts the sheet material into the required parts.
Once the parts are removed from the CNC, they are ready for either edging or sanding, depending on the material. Where necessary, any mitre joints are glued. In some instances, more angles need to be cut on the saw to create compound angles. All of this requires great skill and time.
These semi-assembled units are then ready for the spray shop.
This particular lectern is sprayed white, giving a high quality matt finish and left to dry in the drying room.
Once all coats have been applied and dried, the lectern can be assembled. This Sentinel also has a height adjustable actuator to be integrated and a logo to be applied, which is also printed and cut in house.
And here is the completed Sentinel Lectern. Made to the usual quality you expect from JM Lecterns. Not a harsh edge in sight making the lectern very tactile.
